I bought it at a local parts store $44.00 plus core charge (refunded when returned old one)

depending on how they stock it - you may have to swap some parts (as i did)

follow directions supplied- and bleed befor you install it then bleed the system again. I bled everything until i had new fluid at all tires

I also used synthetic oil

swapping out the cylinder was easy- disconnect any wires- (low fluid and speed control if equiped)
2 bolts hold the cylinder in place to the booster

when you are ready to install new cylinder i adjust the bolt coming out of the booster so it just touched the piston inside of the new cylinder (so as to have to apply a little pressure when sliding cylinder over mounting studs ) where it contacts the booster

there is a propper way of doing this in the service manual if you have access to one

hardest part was swapping the resovior - a big box wrench, rounded end so you don't put any holes in it - worked

while test drive was a little soft at first, after some short hard stops, pedel was good and i tested truck again today - still good
noticed fluid was down a little more so maybe there was a little priming needed to get rid any air in the top of the cylinder

i'm not driving the truck right now till i'm done with the heater core, so i can't say how things rely are until i get back on the road!!!!!!!!!!!!!

took abought 3 hours total time with my 4 yr olds help

reply if this helps - good luck

your local parts shop should have synth. oil

you will need a ford shop manual, haynes and chilton do not show the adjustment for the push pin.

I was just reading through some other forums - found one about the crouse control recall, ford will install a fuse harnes on the brake master cylinder speed control switch, but there is something about the switch leaking which couse's a short witch leads to the fire they are trying to stop, so you should install a new switch also, i will..................
