Angry Not happy with FORD or HANKOOK TIRE

I got a flat tire today on my 2006 FORD F-150 XLT 4X4 SuperCab that is less than 4 months old with 2800 miles on it. I feel the tire blew out. Two of us did not see anything that I could have run over or hit. I did not feel anything that I could have run over or hit. I took a corner and then I heard a noise like an air hose leak. I stopped and my rear tire was flat. Both Hankook tire and Ford said I must have hit something and would not warrenty it. How could I have hit something with the sidewall and not damage my aluminum rim ?

Haddad Ford and FORD would not warranty it, nor would HANKOOK TIRE. I was very DISAPPOINTED with both companies. I made SEVERAL calls to each. I guess BUMPER to BUMPER doesn't include tires. Why do they even have a separate WARRANTY BOOK for TIRES if they have no intention of replacement ? Other companies cover road hazard warranties ??? I am very disappointed in FORD. I spent well over 30k for a new truck and it p'd me off that I had to spend half a day to fight over a tire warranty.

The only reason I am posting this is so others know and so they can beware.

Before I bought my truck I was promised ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. When I called today I was told "WE DO NOT HAVE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE HERE."

I know I will Never buy a HANKOOK tire again. Haddad Ford is not far behind either.

See, this is how it goes. When you get the tire warranty, nothing happpens to your tires. When you don't, all the bolts, nails, glass, potholes etc. find you. I really can't blame them because unless it's an actual defect, then that's Hankook's issues after the dealerships. You can go over their heads though if indeed it was a tire defect.

Did you look at the tire? Did it look like a cut or like the tire fell apart? Sounds more like bad luck than anything else. You wasted half a day instead of paying the $100 and be done with the situation in 30 minutes.

This is why I go to TireDiscounters (big chain here) and buy a roadhazard warranty when I buy a new vehicle. It costs about another $50-70 but They take care of it.

Well, it's not Ford's fault. No dealer has a warranty on tires. To many variables when it comes to tires and tire failure.

These are the cheapest tires that can be bought.

Do yourself a favor, go get a good set of tires and pay the money for road hazard. Lot less stress in the future.

I've had the sidewall on a tire cut, flatted, and ruined 3 different times over 40 years of driving. Never a hint of having run over anything. No wheel damage. It happens man. It's just bad luck.

A quick search will turn up a whole bunch of people that disagree with you folks.

There are quite a few people with those tires that have had them self destruct for no reason.

Even as crappy as the Generals are, you don't hear about them doing that.

I saw mentioned a while back that the Hancooks are P rated... passenger car tires on a nearly 6k pound truck.

Good luck fighting that battle, most of the other guys had no luck with it.

I'm glad my dealer swapped out the junk Generals for a set of Michelins.

Four months and 2800 miles and then a questionable tire blow out. Plus the roadside assistance fiasco. I would not be happy either.

Hopefully things will go better for you with your new truck.

My rig came with the Hankook tires and I could not WAIT to get good ones on there instead. Felt like I was driving on jelly tires or something. Either poor quality or not meant for the rig they were on.

yup P rated tires on your nice big heavy Ford, No one offers road side Hazard on thier trucks, Ford is the only truck builder putting P rated tires on trucks, In general (( not the tire )) GM, Dodge, Chevy Put the cheapest tires on thier trucks..

LT 265 70 17 4 or 6 ply tires, or 10 ply if your work your truck, The hancooks don't have any side wall strength and on my 04 F-150 one blew out just standing still.

Visit a a independant tire store and get Road hazard coverage, For a quality tire, I reported Ford to the minstry of transport in Canada regaurding the hancooks, More Folks need to report Hancook and Ford to thier respective transportation ministrys in your country..
