As soon as I picked up our 2006 Superacb FX4, I went to Discount Tires and bought thier Road Hazard Warranty.
This cost less than $100.00 and it includes tire rotations for the life of the tires.

Last week I had a flat tire and took it to them that morning.
The sidewall had a cut and it had to be replaced. This happened at approximately 5,000 miles on the truck.
The shop replaced it with no questions or problems.
Well, 1 problem. They did not have the 20" Scorpion ATR white outline tire in stock and had to order it.
But, up steps the shop again, they put on a 20" Scorpion ATR blackwall tire for me to run on until the replacement tire comes comes in to the shop.

Gotta agree on the Hankooks. The left front was wearing abnormally after only 20k miles. Thought it was alignment but everything checked OK. Since there was a little tread remaining I decided to wait a few months. The other day it was showing cord. Only a week and a few hundred miles of driving around town had elapsed.

The dealership actually matched Costco on a new pair of Michelins. Getting them mounted tomorrow, can't wait for the other pair of Hankooks to wear out so I can be rid of them! They always made me feel like I was driving around on very thin condoms!

yep. my inlaws have a 2007 F150 4x4. at 10k miles they had the tires rotated and pressure checked before a trip, made it 40 miles away and one Hancook tire literally disintegrated. The tire had a dozen or more radial tears from the rim out to the tread at exactly the same spacing all the way around. This really looks to me (as an engineer) to be suspect as a manufacturing or material flaw. Hancook said they ran over something and the tire went flat. Hancook is in denial. Keep watching...this may be the next tire recall. I'll try to post pics sometime soon.

yeah, i knew it was old. i was just browsing for hancook tire threads and will see if there are other newer ones. when u see the pics of the tire you'll see what i'm saying. this tire unzipped itself. thank goodness they weren't 10 miles further down the roads in turns. could have been very ugly.

Pat, Hankook makes some good tires. The Dynapro Whatevertheheckitis just isn't one of them. That tire has the weakest sidewall/carcass I have ever seen and that includes car tires. I mounted/balance some a couple of years ago and that is the only tire I have ever seen that could be mounted just by pushing/twisting it onto the rim by hand. The sidewall and bead area is waaay to weak in my opinion.

The first OEM who warranties tires will benifit in customer satisfaction. They will have to nagotiate with the tire suppliers in order to implement this.
