Brake drag?

My F150 2002 4.6L does not drive when its in DRIVE unless I push GAS. Should it go in drive without the gas pedal being pushed?

On flat level paved ground when unloaded? Yes.

Maybe, but then it would act like the brakes are on the whole time, and your brakes would overheat, causing that famous burning brake smell.

Rear brakes...

I had the same problem with my 1998 4x2 4.6. The rear brakes were also getting pretty hot. I pulled the drums to remove dust and then re-adjusted brakes. Ever since that time I am getting this hideous noise from the rear brakes. The noise sounds like a low pitch whine every time you brake (after brakes are warm) almost like the sound air brakes make. I haven’t been able to find anything that sounds like my problem within the forum. It's troublesome & embarrassing. Can anyone help?

If I'm on flat ground and I'm not pushing in the brakes my truck is moving big time. I have to hold my foot on the brakes if it's flat, but it's rarely flat here in north Georgia anyway, so it's not too big of an issue for me. Good luck!!!
