Can you replace your wheels with smaller wheels?

Can you put a 15" wheel on a truck with factory 16" wheels?

I've heard that is a big NO-NO. Is that true? If so why? Or can you make the change and make some type of adjustment as you do when you get oversized tires/wheels?

Thanks!

It depend on the vehicle. In your case no. The 98 can only have 16" or larger wheels. Smaller would not clear the brake calipers. 04 and up F150s, smallest are 17".

x2. I remember seeing someone in the Lightning section who ground a bunch of extra metal off their calipers so they could fit 15" rims for drag racing, I dont think thats anything I would want to try though.

I would have went with 15" rims in a second if they would have fit.

97 and newer F-150s need the 16" rims. Older ones are ok. My dad has some sweet 14s on his Ranger

Do you think he could fit some 13's on the Ranger if he ground down the brake calipers?

Some 13" hundred spokes with some whitewalls And speaking of small brakes, my cousin just bought a Scion xB , and the back brakes (drums) look like they're the size of a CD.
