Tire Noise

I bought my first 4WD truck a couple years back (F150 FX4 Supercrew). I notice when making sharp turns the tires squeal. It may be the high center of gravity or the type of pavement. Doesn't matter how slow I turn either. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm thinking about going with a wider tire. I like the LT305/70R16 look. Think this will alleviate the squealing problem?

Yeah, me in my '03 F-150 Sport 4x2 make alot of squeals. Seems to be mostly on asphalt, not concrete. Oh, well. It's not like ur breakin' the law by squealing tires. Don't sweat it. In fact, drive by the local high School and squeal them as loud as possible when school lets out. They'll love it... lol

Its just the tires. My roommate has some GoodYear Wrangler ST's on his truck (he just had his second one in two years blow out on him last week...what a crappy tire), and they squeal all the time when he is turning at speed.

Thanks Johngs.

That's what I needed to hear. What do you think about the LT305/70R16? I've seen this on a friend of mine's truck and like it, but I'm a bit apprehensive about buying a smaller tire. I am excited about buying a different wheel, but not sure if I should go with a smaller tire.

Again, thanks for the response. It means a lot!

Smaller Tire? 305/70/16 is between 33-34 inches what size tire are you running now?

I love the 305 just because it is wider than a 285. I am going to be going with an aftermarket 17 but when I looked at going with 16's I was without a doubt going to run 305's

Currently I'm running the stock tires (P265/70R17). I'm going to Discount Tire tomorrow and will most likely get the LT305s on new wheels. 16" wheels and tires are much cheaper than 17" anyway.
