Final Decision... BFG or Bridgestone

Last post for me on tires guys i swear...... I've gone back and forth about which one of these tires to get. I've read the reviews on tirerack.com for both and it just doesnt help me to make my decision, I know alot of you recomend the BFG All-Terrain T/A KO...... how about anyone who has the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo?? Anyone who's had both? I need the all out best tire for Winter. it gets super nasty here with Ice/snow mixture, Sometimes its pure powder..... most of the times its ice and snow. I'll be setting up to get tires this week so give me as much input as you all can.

Also i think someone said a 285 would fit on the stock FX4 Rims(2003) so thats the size i will be going for!

I've never owned the BFGs but the Bridgestones are the best AT tires I've ever owned out of everything else I have tried.

They handled the KY winters extremely well. Sounds like our winter precip is pretty well exactly what you get as well.

I've had a set of the original Bridgestone Dueler AT's and two sets of BFG AT KO's. Both are excellent tires. You can't go wrong either.

ive had both, bfs on a tahoe, revos on a jeep, i think the revos gave a better "wet" performance on the road, here in Fl, they seemed to throw water better then the bfs did, not that the bfs did bad or anything, but i felt better planted while driving through large puddles in the revos then the bfs.

I have also had them both off road, the revos did extreemly well in the mud when i had my jeep, but the bfs outperformed them off road, in mud, dirt sand etc... with my tahoe, i was up in college in lynchburg VA, we always had ice, ALL the time, i never put her into 4wheel drive, those things griped awesome, and they will last longer then the revos i bet.

All in all, i would say the revos will give a slightly better "on road" ride, but not a big enough diffrence to choose them over the bfs, the goodriches will outperfrom the revos in snow, ice, mud, sand etc... but just wont shed water as good as the revos.

hoped this helped man, any more questions just ask

I have only had the bfg's but I say they do good in snow. they are even rated to meet the same standards as the top rated snow tires. they should come with the little stamp with a mountain and snow flake to show that rateing. I don't think the revo's are rated the same. I could be wrong on that though. good luck

I think you will be vary happy with both the magnaflow and the bfg's
oh and I have heard that if yoy get them siped they will handle as good as a studded tire on the ice. I am going to get mine siped this year to make it even better on the ice. I hope it works as good as I was told.

I don't know about the 2003's but they fit on my 2004 fx4 before I put on the front leveling kit in. I do think there was some guys that ran them on a 4x2 truck without issues so I am guessing you should be fine they are a 33 inch tire. if you want to check how much room you hafe just measure your tire horizontally and see how big your tire is and then see how much clearance you got when turning the tires back and fourth. if you are running 31 inch tires the 33's will stick out 1 inch or so all arround as long as you have more than that which I am betting you do all will be fine. that is how I know I could run 35's if I wanted to but it would be tight. I don't think you will have any issues with the 33's.

I don't get snow here but I can tell you that I've been very happy with all the BFG AT's that I had.

I've had both and prefer the Revos. I wanted a little larger than stock size as well, so I went with the BFG 285/70R17 on my 03 Screw as Revos don't come in that size. My recommendation is:

Stock size: Revos
1" larger: BFG

For what it's worth,
I have the Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo 265/70/17's on my truck and they are AWESOME!! Last year I only put my truck into 4-wheel drive 3 times the whole winter. I have never owned a set of BFG's so I can't make a comparison.

i have had the bfg's at on a jeep wrangler and now my f150 the are the best all around tire. i havethe 28570 17 onstock fx4 rims no rubbing or any prolbems. they wear like iron. i have yet to fine a negative comment to make and i have put a lot of miles on them thru the years (beside price) but you get what you paid for. they last longer than the next best thing. so the price evens out. check out my gallery wilsonford to see pics on stock rims
