Hello everybody I have 95 F-150 .Just want an expert opinion whats the best type of brake pads to use.

 

For what purpose? Stock replacement....Ford/Motorcraft
towing/heavy duty....ceramic or carbon metallic

 

Well, no matter what your doing with your truck, you want to go with at least semi-metallic pads. For off-road, over sized tires or running 22's / 24's etc. you want to go with Ceramic or Kevlar pads. They will last longer and perform much better than stock replacements. If you truck is stock w/ stock size tires - you don't tow anything, still spend some $$ on quality pads, semi - metallic or better, there's nothing wrong with stopping a little quicker....

 

I always have good luck with the Carbon Metallic Brake Pads. They stop fast, last a long time, and they make the rotors last longer.

I have read alot of good things about the Kevlar pads. If kevlar can stop a bullet, then I would assume it could stop a car eh? JK

But seriously, I am going to change mine here soon, with crossdrilled front and rear rotors and Kevalr pads. I wanted to upgrade but $3K on calipers and rotors is absurd. It can't make them stop that good, and I mean like stop on a dime and give 9 cent change.

 

do you have shoes in the rear? is brake dust an issue? rule of thumb...the harder the material the less stopping power and more wear on the rotors. I like the hard ceramic 'cause i don't like the dust. but they will punish your rotors at high speed if your rear shoes ain't adjusted.
