Lax-
Std offset for our trucks is 4 1/2, and if you will look inside your stock wheel you will see a metric #, mine said 28 mm. I was asked when I ordered wheels online for this #.
I installed 8 x 17 with std offset, and 12 x 31 tires, and they tuck in at the top ( 1" at front, and 2" at rear - but of course they stick out more at the bottom because of the curve at the sides of the truck.
If they stick out at the top your truck will always get road spray everywhere....

A tire on a 10 inch wide wheel will stick out 1/2 inch farther than the same size tire on a 9.5 inch wide wheel if ***** wheels have the same backspacing.
How would he be even with the wheel well? The stock rim is 7" wide with 4.5" backspacing. It is even with the wheel well. The wheel he wants to buy is 9.5" with 4.5" backspacing. That means the extra 2.5" is all on the outside edge of the wheel...making it stick out 2.5" more than stock.

You are right. But my stock 16x7's were not even with the edge of the fenders. They were tucked in a couple of inches.
