claws vs. radial claws

I am starting to look for my next set of tires. i wont be getting them for about 6 monthes but it takes me a long time to decide. I have always wanted a set of baja claws and i thin ki am gonna get them this time. I have heard that the baja claws last almost as long as the claw radials? I have seen a few people on this site with the non-radials, how many miles? hows tread wear? i am gonna get these tires no matter what just need to decided which ones. i do mostly on-road driving but i will sacrafice for the good like of an aggresive tire? Thanks for the help?

If most of your driving is on road, you will be much, much better off with the radials. Bias ply tires tend to wander on the highway, and flatspot overnight.

I do most of my driving on the road but i just like how the non-radials look. the sidebites are hollowed out and they look a little more agressive. But i agree i should get the radials. bigtrruck, how many miles do you have on your tires? hows the wear so far?

around 5000 miles starting to wear alittle but not bad i think the will last around 25000 or 30000 at the most, nice even wear, and they do wander alittle on the street but that is with my big tires you shouldnt have that problem

i plan to buy 315/75/16's. anohter big reason i wanted to get the non-radials is because they come in 35x13.50's. i hate 35's that are only 12.5" wide. I really want to find a 35 that i can get a little wider. got any suggestions? i definetly dont want the typical mud-terrain. they all look the same to me and everyone has got them. i also hope to find one i can get 25-30,000 miles on. My mtr's were great but i hate buying the same tire twice. i thrive on change.

actually i have looked at them a lot. they only reason i decided against them is that everyone said that they fall apart and throw lugs bad. I do go on the highway occasionaly for 30 minutes or so at a time, and i dont want to be throwing chunks. i do love the ssr's looks though. the price is a little high for a tire that will wear fast, too.

i have never had the radial ssr but i have only heard good things about them you might want to double check on the ssr i think they would be great for your application i still dont think anything is better offroad than the claws tho

does anyone out there actually have the ssr's? i havent gotten many opinions from actual owners, most of my info has come from magazine reviews. i have only seen the srr's once actually on a truck so i have no one in my area to ask. i did find a little info on a jeep forum, but jeeps are in a totally different weight class.

i did that aleardy but i cant find many people that have had them. it scares me to spend over $230 a tire when not many people have tried them out. i guess thats the price i have to pay to get tires that arent so common around my town. i guess i am gonna go with the claws or the ssr's. whichever one is priced better when the time comes thats what ill go with. at least looks wise i cant go wrong with either of the two. there arent many out there that look better. thanks for all the help bigtruck311
