Big wheels w/ meat

Just got my 05 F-150 today and am looking to get a larger wheel with tires that actually have a sidewall. I really do not like rubber band tires and am looking for something that will have a good balance on a 2WD F-150 SuperCab with a 2 inch spindle drop in the rear for the future.
Im thinking for a 22 inch wheel, getting a 305/45/22 would be a good setup? Im having a hard time finding trucks with this setup.

When I say I want meat on the wheels, the picture below is pretty much what I want of a tire and wheel package. Good amount of rubber hugging the wheel. Although its a 20 in the pic, id like to get the same effect on a 22. Are my tire size calculations about right?

TIA!

I think you have the right idea. A 305/45-22 works out to be approximately a 33x12.50-22. That's the size I want to put on my Expedition. I've seen a couple of people at FTW running that size on stock 4x2 F-150's and it looks great.

HIDPLANET...

I have a 2004 F150 on 17s. I was thinking of going 20, but maybe 22. Ive been searching through wheels for days now....then i saw the ones in that picture you posted. Are those the same wheels you ordered? If not, do you know what brand and style they are? Thank you so much! I finally found a wheel i like!!

The ones I ordered are kinda similar but I decided to go with the black wheels with chrome dish. It will match what I plan to do on the truck. Black out the windows, wheels, headlights and grille.
Will post pics on Sat.

I ordered mine with the same size tires so I hope it all fits well without clearance issues. I plan to drop the rear to fit better and possibly lower the front ever so slightly to get it all stanced out right. Dont want a lowrider but want it all to fit nicely.
