32x11.5R15?

I was going to put 32" tires on my 96 F150, but the shop is recommending I stick with 31x10.5R15 since I have 15" wheels. They're saying 11.5 is too wide for that size wheel, the center tread will ware too fast. The truck gets mostly highway and dirt roads. Anybody on here run 32x11.5 on a stock 15" wheel? What do you all think i should do?

is your stock wheel a 7 or 7.5". i had 12.50's on an 8" wheel and had no wear problems. i think you would be fine if your wheels are 7.5" wide. Probably be okay if their 7" too. you just might have to rotate and check pressure a little more often to keep them good.

First of all, the 15" has nothing to do with anything. You can run a 39x19 wide tire on 15" rims, if you want.

00F1504x4FL's comment is right on the mark. What people on this forum don't realize (or maybe it just seems this way) is the wheel width is the limiting factor, not wheel height.

32x11.5 should work easily on 7.5 and should be doable on a 7, as well. I wouldn't go any wider on either of these wheels, though.
