Question will it fit?

I have a stock 1997 F-150 with 265/70/17 that I was thinking about fitting with 305/70/17 mud tires. Wiil this combination of tire and stock wheel fit, and if not, can I change to an aftermarket wheel without lifting my truck. I really would like to avoid lifting it much at all. Could I raise the torsion bars to fix this problem. I really need some help!!! Quickly.....

If you have a stock 4x4 they will fit, may take a little trimming. You can change to an aftermarket wheel without lifting your truck but the offset will make the tire even closer to the bumper. If you have a 2wd you are gonna have to lift the front to fit that size (with stock or aftermarket wheels) You dont have torsion bars to crack if your a 2wd. 4x4 has torsion bars and you could get an inch or so lift out of them.

I agree. You can fit 305/70-17's (34x12.50) on a stock 4x4 by using the stock 17x7.5 inch wheels and cranking up the torsion bars.
