Question Larger rims or tires to get to 33"

I like the look of 33" tires on a 16x10" rims but was wondering if that would be the best tire/wheel combo for the way I drive. You would probably classify me as an aggessive driver, fast off the line, pushing the curves, and never holding up traffic on the highway. My current wheel/tire combo is 265/75/16 on stock rims. I want to go to at least 33" overall to better fill up the wheel well. I am considering either 16x10 rims or 20x9 rims. While I can reach 33" with the right sets of tires on either rim selection, the question is which would be the best rim size for the way I drive? I assume 33's on a 16" rim with more rubber will give me a smoother rider, while 33's on a 20" rim with less rubber will give me better performance in curves but a firmer ride. Are my assumptions true?

Thanks in advance for your help.

wheels and tires?

I would go with the larger rims and tires if I were you. If you look at the SEMA pics It seems that people are trending towards the bigger wheels and low profile AT truck tires. This also looks pretty cool. I just upgraded myself. I went with 20" MB Motoring Bruzers and the new 20" BF G AT's which also come in 33 and 35's I believe. check it out if you want.

Scott,

Yours is a cool luck. How does your new wheels compared to stock in the area of comfort and handling? Are you running 305/50/20s?

go black

Crain, the much smaller stock, passenger tires were a little bit smoother, However the differance is negligable compared to the great look. The tires are 285/55/20 which equall almost a 33" tire.
It was not necessary to lift the truck, although I intend to eventually.
Check out www.discounttiredirect.com and click on the virtual wheel link and click your truck for a look at all the wheel options available and what they will look like on your truck. Unfortunately, this option is not available for tires. Happy shopping
