stock wheel interchange 97-03

I have heard that the 5x135 mm bolt pattern on these trucks will allow all years to interchange(97-03). I have also heard that the bolt sizes changed during 00-01?? Does the change in bolt size affect the interchange? In other words, if I buy some stock wheels from a 97 truck - will they fit my 2001 truck? Thanks

You can use wheels from the earlier trucks, just be sure to use lug nuts for your year vehicle.

I tried to mount the rims from my 99 F-150 on my 2003 and they wouldn't go on. Bolt circle the same, but the lugs were larger and didn't fit in the holes. I didn't want to mess up the threads, so I didn't force them.
