Whats the Biggest tire I can fit

I have A 97 f 150 4x4 off-road, I do a lot for wheeling and would like to know what the beggest wheel I can fit on my 17-7.5 sawblades with no problems. tire shops say that 265-70s are the biggest.

If any one has pic's please show

You can step up to 285/70's or go all the way up to a 305/70. You will have no issues at all fitting the 285's, and with the 305's, some folks on here claim they have to crank up the torsion bars and trim some plastic off their lower valence and some people say they can fit them without doing anything. I think it must depend on the truck. By the way, the 285's are 33/12.5's and the 305's are between a 34 and a 35, 12.5 inches wide I believe. Some people have made threads on here showing off the tires on their truck (someone has a silver fx4 with 305's I believe) so just search around on this site and see what others have on thier trucks and what they have to say about it.

You can easily fit 285/70-17's which are a 33x11.50-17. You could also run a 33x12.50-17 or a 295/70-17 (34x12.00) or a 305/70-17 (34x12.50). Some people have run 315/70-17's (35x12.50) by using the stock wheels and cranking up the torsion bars and trimming a little plastic off the front bumper's lower valance. If you do any moderate to serious off roading you will have some rubbing with the 315/70-17's. I would recommend one of the smaller sizes unless you plan on lifting the truck in the near future.
