Tire Recommendations?
My POS stock genearal's are about toast (30k), so its time to get some new tires. I have an 02 F-150 3.55ls, 4.2l auto, Flowmaster SI/SO, Airaid Intake, and a superchip. It looks like I'll be keeping this truck another year before I can get a new one, so I want to put some good tires on it because I'm driving about 20-25k a year now. Alot of my miles are towing, so I'm planning on sticking with the stock 255/70/16 instead of upsizing to 265/75/16. My question is should I go with an AT tire or just a regular tire? I often end up on slippery boat ramps at tournaments, so I want something with good grip, but something that isnt going to take away miliage or power. Price really isnt an isue, and I'm more than willing to drop 170 a piece on the BFG's if necessary. Thanks.

If you can afford them, the Michlein is the best I've ever had....by far. Sams Club actually has a Sams Only tire that Michelin makes only for them that is about 99% the same as the LTX, but cheaper, esp since it's at Sams Club.
Goodyear Wrangler ATS would be next, but they have had some balancing issues.

i would second the recommendation of michelin ltx m/s tires.
i am on my second set, getting 55,000 out of the first ones.
i am rough on the tires, and they held up like champs.
rotated them at approx every 5000 miles, and i was not disappointed. they were good in the snow & rain, and lasted longer than i thought they would have.
my local costco was also able to order them for me and had them in a real short time frame.

I went with the Michelin Cross Terrain SUV.
This is a 'P' rated tire but it has plenty of load carrying capability for a V6 F150. It comes as an option on some of the upscale SUV's. Very quiet on the highway, huge improvement in wet traction over the stock Generals, good ride. I've got about 25,000 miles on mine and I think they will last a long, long time. It has a soft sidewall, though, so if you go offroad in rocky areas I would go with something else.
