Cool

Actually, you may have a hard time getting the rotors replaced since you are over the 12,000 mile mark. Just to let you know though, there are 'new' rotors out for the 2004 F-150 4x4's (not sure about 4x2). You might be able to argue that this has been an ongoing problem and that you want new rotors...I wish you the best of luck.

I have a F150 SC 2002....

been in 6 times to dealer for noise on the front wheels/brakes... rotors done 3 times... pads replaced twice, calipers twice... in 24k miles...

took in last week for the last time... drove it off the lot and felt the front end was gonna fall off when i hit the brakes took it back and was told this was 'normal'... i've have other 150 drivers in my truck and driven theirs.... not an issue with their trucks...

Dealer says i'm a 'lousy' drive and left foot brake (learned to drive on stick - therefore don't left foot brake) and that I drive through puddles.

I'm not the truck 'conessuier' like you guys, but i gotta say my experience with a this truck has been less than enjoyable.

And I think i'll follow your advice and get somebody elses pads/rotors...

It seems the dealers response to the problems with our trucks is always OUR fault, when THEY (dealer) can't figure out how to fix it.Just hire some compitent mechanics that don't need to follow a manual in order to fix it

2004 Screw with 9k..Rotors turned for the first time. Excessive brake dust I clean off each weekend. My neighbor has 3k on his 2004 Screw and rotors just turned. Fird Delaer indicates there could be an issue Ford is reviewing, but is very vague on details.. This is getting real old fast.

rotors

I had bad break chatter on my 04 at around 5000 miles, at 6000 on my second oil change the dealer told me my rotors were warped. I was shocked but it was covered under waranty so I was not upset. I now have 14,500 and I'm starting to feel that familiar chatter again. All I do is drive to work and drive home every day so if the dealer asks me about my driving habbits, I might have to put his nose through the back of his head!

Still extremely happy with the ceramic pads. No more dust and they don't chew the rotors up like the OEMs did...Kevin

I don't know about '04 and '04 F-150's (my '05 will be built next week), but the only way I've ever solved my F-150 brake problems to my satisfation was to go with Brembo replacement rotors and Bendix ceramic pads. Man, what a difference! No dust, no warping, no galling and they'll imbed your sunglasses in the windshield under hard braking. I hope my '05 doesn't require this fix, but it certainly works.
