gas mileage and big tires

i have a 92 f150 4x4 automatic with 35x12x15" tires. the gas mileage is about 10 miles on average, 12 if i drive like there is an egg between my foot and the pedal. i am pretty sure the gears are stock. is there anything that can be done to improve gas mileage? the cost of just gas is a car payment in itself.

Don't know what engine you have, and don't know that it would matter. That truck isn't going to get great mileage no matter the engine.

Mine gets about 11 - 12 no matter what and it is stock height.

Did you recalibrate the speedo after putting on the larger tires?

Did you regear after putting on the larger tires?

i did not do anything to the truck, i bought it like this. i am almost certain though that nothing was done other then the lift and the tires. the engine is v8 5.0 automatic.
