Big Rims Cause Brake And Tranny Problems??

I have a 2001 expedition eddie bauer 5.4l at first I was planning on gettin 24" rims but now I hear they are bad for the axels and tranny because of the extra weight. I new big rims destroy your brakes and I was wiling to deal with that, but now I hear of people having problems with tranny's, axels, etc... i'm not getting 22's, so if I dont get 24's then i'll just get 20's with some wide *** tires. so basically I just want to know what people think and have. i'll be selling this truck in less then 2 years so I dont want to get a big brake kit or anything. if 24's are gonna **** anything up then i jsut wont get them. i like the look of big rims but I dont want to damage my truck. big reason I bought this truck is so I can tow my car to the track.

Does anyone know of a 20" rim that is like a deep dish 5-7 spoke brush aluminum rims thats maybe 10" wide??? I want 20" rims and enough tire to fill the fenderwell and maybe stick out past teh fender like 1/2 an inch or so. let me know and thanks in advance

It will frek up the tranny because the shift points are way off. You need to talk to Mike Troyer about a programer that will help correct that
