abs light on after brake job

After I installed new pads my abs light came on. No fuses are blown and I have not tryed to see if the abs even works. Any ideas? Possible sensor problem. If so how do I check it?

Thanks

did you replace rotors?

2wd or 4 wd?

rear abs or 4whl abs?

if you can get the codes in the abs read that would be a great help also.

More than likey you had your master cylinder top off prior to changing the pads and once the pads were changed the level of brake fluid inside the master cylinder is to high and this will cause your ABS on newer models and your E-Brake light on older models to stay on steady. So check the level in you master cylinder and make sure it is not over filled. Also if you changed your rotors you may have disconnect your wire to your ABS sensor which reads off the ring gear on the back of the rotor, if this is the case the ABS sensor will always read as OPEN and this will also cause your light to stay steady on.

It is 4wd with 4 wheel disk brakes. Not sure if it has all wheel abs. I will check fluid level to see if that is it.

Thanks
