Tire and Wheel Size?

I have a 1997 Ford F250 extended cab 4X4. I bought the truck pretty much as it is now. I was wanting to increase the height and appearance of the truck by getting bigger tires. The tires that I have on it now are Firestone Steeltex A/T LT265 75/R16. I know nothing about these things, but I am wanting to know, as is, with no lift kit on it, what is the biggest tire that I can go up to? I know a guy who has a set of 33" tires that are almost new that I could get for cheap, but I don't know if they would fit or for that matter, if I would have to get bigger rims. Any answers?

You can fit 305/70R16's (33x12.50R16) If its a Light Duty F250 You might have to turn the torsion bars a little. Rock on dude

Smile in my humble opinion

285's on 16" rims will be the biggest, but I have a F150 and I never touched the torsion bars. They come very close to the mud flaps in the front on turns though so do your homework in the search feature for more info before you buy.
IMHO
