squeaking pads

I have a problem with my 99 F150 front brakes making a hugh pitch squeal when the brakes are not engaged. When I apply the brakes, it stops.

I'm told it may be the pads, but both metalic and ceramic pads have been tried by the shop.

It was suggested maybe try organic (?) pads? What pads do you recommend to stop this....it's driving me nuts!

Complete brake job was done, including turning rotors and rebuilding/replacing pistons. Not sure what else it could be besides the pads.

Thanks

it's a fairly new problem

Interesting to hear this is common on the 99 models. I've had a brake job done before, and never had problems.

are the brake caliper slides properly lubricated and working correctly. Use only a high temperature rated brake grease. Is your gas mileage/truck performance crappy? would suspect your brakes are dragging. i disagree with 5.4; from my experience this is not a common problem.
