315/70/17s Fit? Mileage?
I'm surprised about the body lift. $190 sounds expensive, and I thought they all were the same 97-03. Mine was the same PA 862 for the previous years, but mine's a supercab as well. Maybe the 'crews are different.
I used the Microtuner to recalibrate mine speedo/odo for the tire change. That thing is probably the best $325 you can spend. It has kept my mileage real close to stock and, although I can't feel it, a couple more ponies under the hood. Plus it doubles as a code reader.
Good luck with the body lift -

I know these tires will fit. I had several people tell me they won't, but they will. I took a sawsall and cut my air dam on the lower back corners about 1 1/2 inches, then took some heavy sand paper and cleaned it up. But I found out after driving the interstates that my rear fenders would rub a little when crossing bumps. So I trimmed the inner lower corners about 1/2-3/4 of an inch. I also know that a 2003 Screw FX4 sits up slighty more than a 2001 Screw 4x4 "OFFROAD" with the same 17" wheels and GY ATS's, so that could be the difference with these tires fitting. I also cranked my torsion bars 3 turns, but I also have a Ramsey 9500 lbs. winch on the front. With these "easy-to-do" mods they will fit!
THANKS everybody!
I'll definitely post a pic once I get all of this installed.
I believe the final configuration will be the 3" Performance Accessories body lift, the 315/70/17 BFGs and the 1715 Microtuner.
The body lift is on the way. The BFGs are here and ready to be put on as soon as there is enough room under the truck for them. Last but not least I'm now in the market for a 1715.

It's all done!
Saturday we installed the Performance Accessories 3" Body Lift. It took us about 11 hours including an hour and a half lunch and a parts run. 2 of my friends helped from start to finish. This kit is great. It comes with everything you need other than exploded parts diagrams. The photos of the assemblies are a little weak.
Got the BFGs installed yesterday. The tires fit on the truck with no apparent need for modification. Looks like I might have to trim the air dam a little out of the wheel wells. I'm waiting to see how bad they rub. One item of interest. I also replaced my spare with one of the BFG 315s. It is a very very tight fit between the frame members. Had to bend the tail pipe hanger slightly to prevent it from touching the spare. It is obviously not designed to hold a wheel this large.
Installed the 1715 Superchips Microtuner last night. Got in the truck this morning and it JUMPED out of the garage. I think I'm gonna like this.
Not much left to do but drive it. I'd like to post a pic but I can't figure that out. I've got a digital picture but so far I've been unable to get it to show up in my post.
Thanks for all of your help!

I think I've figured this picture posting out.
If anyone has any questions about my setup I'd be more than happy to comment. I really appreciate all of the assistance I had in figuring this out.

I put 315's on my truck before I put a body lift on it. Yes there was a little trimming involved but they did fit. I waited about a month before I installed the lift which made it look a lot better. I don't have any pictures on this site but I do in the Ford Truck World site under txhighstepper gallery. By the way nice truck!!
jdpritch, I've been thinking about doing a body lift on mine, did you have any problems with the brush guard matching up right? Does yours mount to your frame ? I have a winch mount and was wondering if a body lift would affect the way it mounted?
What can I expect?
Hey all,
It has been sometime since I have been on this site and it is still as helpfull as ever. I just wanted to ask MSUdawg or LSCrew a ?? I have just finished doing the 3" body lift and took MSUdawg's advise and contacted my local Hummer dealer and got the BFG 315/70/17 for $500. And that came with the HUmmer rims. Anyhow my ? is what can I expect performance wise with the 1715 Microtuner. I had the 1705 in my F350 and work awesome. But that is a dfferent beast all together. I have a 3.55 and would like the low end power back. Any feedback much appreciated. By the way, anybody need some brand new Hummer Rims 17X8.5.
Thanks,
Mark
