Question tire size on ORP 17 inchers

I'm looking to put some BFG Baja T/A's on my '00 w/ ORP, and the smallest that these are made for the ORP 17's is 35x12.5R17LT/C... have any of you put 35" tires on w/o a lift? eventually I plan on doing a 4 or 6-inch lift, but I really want to change out those POS goodyears that came with the truck sometime soon.

I wouldnt try it, unless you can cut the hell out of your fenders to fit the 35's. I have 35's right now with a 3" body lift, and when the wheels are fully locked, there might be maybe 3/4" between my tire and the rear part of the wheel well.

I'm not even sure if you can stuff a 35" tire into the wheelwell without a lift. If you can it will rub SUPER bad when you try and turn. Minimum you would have to do is put a 3" body lift in. You can pick one up for about $130.

JupiterAK has the procomp 35x12.5x17 on 16x8 AR rims. Ask him. His is a 250 LD so it may be up higher to start with and I think he may have a lift as well... but ask anyhow.

I've seen 35's on a non-lifted SuperCrew BUT he had the t-bars cranked up 1 1/2" and cut a fair amount of plastic off in front of the fender and said it still rubs. It looked ok but not sure how it worked. I wouldn't do it to mine but that's just me.

Wow, I'm excited. I didn't know BFG made a 35" tire for a 17" rim. Although when I priced them at summitracing.com they came to $499 a piece. What are the prices you have seen? I don't think you can get a 35" tire on w/o a lift. You can if you had a 3" body lift. Several people here have that combo. I am most likely going to be using the 3" body lift and Procomp MT 33/12.5/17 on the factory ORP rims unless someone knows where to get these BFGs for cheap. BTW, I thought JupiterAK had the procomp MT 33/12.5/17 on his f250LD? The 33" tires will fit without a lift.

Yeah Jimmar, he has the 33/12.50R17's on 17x8 American Racing Atlases with no lift. 33's fit, 35's would in no way fit. I have a pic in my gallery with my tires at full lock and you can see just how much space is between the tire and rear fender with a 3" body clearing 35's.
