Question Alcoa wheels...any good

Does anyone have any opinions (good or bad) about Alcoa wheels? I'm looking for some 16" replacements for my stock 17" ORP "cookie cutter" wheels on my 2000 Lariat. It seems that there are very few tires for 17" wheels. I'm looking to get some beefier BFG All-Terrain T/A KO's that will not change the overall diameter of the stock setup, so as to not mess up the speedo, etc. What is the maximum tire size that I can get? Stock setup is 265/70R17. Any help would be appreciated...what other wheels are generally good for 4X4 truck applications (American Racing?)

Thanks everyone..sorry for all the questions..

Steve

If you look on about half of the Commercial Vehicles on the road today, they have Alcoa wheels and have been in business for years. You should get a quality product from them.

TSSCS,
I think that you will get a good product with alcoa wheels, however I think that they are way over priced. If you look around you can get some good quality wheels for much cheaper. I just baught some American Racing wheels, they have a lifetime stuctual warranty! What more could a guy want? And of course they look good too. Check them out on my website.

Question

NINO...thanks for the reply man...I checked out you rig on your website...the truck looks AWESOME with thoes rims and tires. Exactly what I want for my truck. The American Racing Baja wheels are very similar to the Alcoa ones I was looking at. What make tires are you running? I assume that they are 33's? What was the approximate cost for the whole setup? Everyone on this site says that the Alcoa wheels are very expensive....I have not even priced them yet to be honest...I cant imagine that they are more than $175 per wheel...what do you think? I wanted to get the new BFK AT KO's as well. Thanks for all the help NINO...

Cool

TSSCS,
Sorry That it has taken so long for me to reply I have been busy working on my truck!
Thanks for the comments on my truck! You should check it out now on my website I have the new pics of the lift kit installed. I think it looks great. Now to get to your post... Yes, I'm running 33s they are Dunlops. And you would not beleive the deal that I got. I paid $1088.00 for tires and wheels, mounted, balanced, and installed. I think the last time that I priced Alcoa's they were $250 a wheel a big difference! Feel free to ask anything. That is what this site is for.
