Post Clunking

I have a '97 F150. Ot seems that the brakes remain unreleased when I let off the brake pedal at a stop. When I go to accelrate, I hear a clunking noise form the rear, as if only then do the brakes release....Comments ?

Jack up the back of your truck, Take off a wheel, then pull off the brake drum, making sure the parking brake isn't on. Then just look around and see if you notice anything broken, bent or mangled. sounds like you may have a broken spring or something. all you can do is look and see.

Check the responses I got to a similar issue posted under Other Drive Train about half way down the first page.
