Post Tires First, Then Add a Lift?

I'm ready to swap out my stock 235/70/16's for something a little bigger. What's the largest I can go without a lift. I'm more interested in height Vs. width (I want more clearance). I do plan on adding a 3" suspension lift as well, but don't have the cash to do both right now and I definitely need new tires. Any suggestions?

Well is your's a 2wd or a 4wd? A 4wd will fit 305/75/16 woithout a lift. A 2wd will fit that same tire with a 3 inch lift. I don't know how big you can go on a 2wd without a lift however.

It's a 2wd. Just back from the tire dealer. He says the biggest I can go is 265/75 on the 16's I have without a lift. Looks like I'm going to go with 33's though and the lift you mentioned from Fabtech. I've talked to them before. The price seems pretty reasonable. How far in advance did you have to call them to get an installation date?

Well I don't have a Fabtech lift yet. My 3 inch Lift is from Bullseye Industries. Its a spindle lift. You can combine the two for a total of 6 inches of lift though, thats what I'm gonna do. I did the install myself cause the local 4x4 shop wanted too much $$$$ to do it.
