Lightning Wheels & Tires on Reg F-150

Would putting the Lightning wheels and tires raise or lower a regular F-150? I like the wider wheels and tires but do not want to lower my truck.

They are going to lower your truck! And those Lightning Wheels and Tires and expensive. Check out the new edition of Motor Trend.

The lightning wheels/tire combination is 28.5" dia. If you have 255/70-16s on your truck it'll lower it about 3/4", if you've smaller tires then even less difference, hardly enough to worry about.

Thanks. I guess I want taller, not shorter.

The wheel/tire combination is the important thing. The Lightning wheels are 9.5" wide by 18" diameter. I don't know of a 'taller' 18" tire that will fit. You should contact the TireRack (www.tirerack.com) for information. They are great at this stuff, AND, they sell the SVT Lightning wheels for less than half what Ford charges!

Beware, though, if you use the Lightning wheel and tire combination, that you will need an awful lot of HP to get the vehicle really going from a standing start. That's an awful lot of tire!
