Anybody have any experience with the BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A's? They are an awesome looking tire, and I was thinking of switching to them.

I pulled the OEM GoodYear Wranglers off my '99 at 2000 miles and replaced them with BFG all Terrain T/A ko's. The BFG is AWESOME! I have 43,000 miles on them and still have tread left and I drive hard. I have never gotten this many miles on a truck tire before. They mud almost as good as a M/T tire. Best allround tire on the market in my opinion.

My '99 came with Goodyear RTS P265/70R17. They squealed like a stuck pig if I even thought of taking a curve at the speed limit and if my driveway was damp I considered 4 wheel drive. That coupled with my past experiences with Goodyears that wear out at 20,000 miles prompted me to replace them with BFG's (made by Michelin). I know many ppl with Michelin LTX M/S, A/S, and A/T. All love their tires and one friend with M/S got 80,000 miles on his Nissan 4x4. Frankly, I cannot figure how GoodYear can stay in business as sorry as their wranglers perform. Whether you choose Michelin or BFG or whoever, I think ANYTHING is better than the Goodyears.

hey guys,
i guess i'm going out on a limb here, but, here goes. i had the rt/s gy on my truck for 30,000 miles. i never had a problem with them, but the tread was not what i was after. this slipping in the rain and all was never a problem for me. i did notice some slippage on occasion, however i've never owned a tire that wouldn't spin on wet pavement. i changed to the gy mt/r in dec., a little present to myself. i have owned many mud tires in the past-bfg, swamper, and gateway, plus other not so popular names. these mt/r tires are head and shoulders above the rest. don't trash all goodyear tires because one type didn't suit ya. just my opinion, Rich.

Talking

My truck had the original Generals on it when I bought it with 24,000 miles, they barely had any tread left at all. They also spun like I was on ice every time it rained.
I have Yokahama AVS/ST's on it now,and the handling and traction are amazing.
One thing that gets me is that since they are directional tires, they are wearing unevenly and make tons of noise. My truck has alignment issues,I believe,so I'm not blaming it on the tires, really.
The Michelin LTX/MS tires I have on my E-150 are great tires, even with the I-beam
suspension. They hardly ever spin, even when I spent 4 weeks in Hartford Conn. in the winter. Very quiet tires as well, Two thumbs up for the LTX tires
Iknow you guys are talking about 4x4 tires, but a truck is a truck ,,,,,98

I think the Goodyear tires are baseline tires, not bad but definitely not the best. I have them on my SCrew and they did fine for me all winter however I am switching to a defferent tire for next winter. I hardly ever had to use 4WD even in 3 feet of snow, could be that my Crew is just damn good in snow ... Whith that said there are a lot of variations in the RT/s line of tire to keep in mind. My tires are different than those that came on my friend's Dodge which wore out in 30,000km (he now has BFG AT's) His had square and diamond shaped lugs while mine had triangles, go figure they had the same name on the sidewall but just different tread, wierd. But the redeemer for good year for me were the RT/s tires on Mom's Explorer V8 All wheel drive 105,000 km on the stock tires and then we ordered the same tire to replace it. It must be the all wheel drive system because that truck would not spin a tire unless it was in snow. Rain mud ice the truck performed superb breaking was not as good though. So GY RT/s tires IMO are not bad but you will find much better out there and don't swap them just because you hear bad things about them go by your own experience. Oh and a side note Firestone Steeltex A/T are the worst tires on the planet (well maybe not but they are bad) IMO. They would not move Dad's Excursion or my work truck 3 feet w/o 4X4 in the winter and that is mostly what I want in a tire mud and snnow traction and not to have to change them every time there is snow.

Sorry about the length but I had to stick up for goodYear they have treated my family well.
