have a 99 ranger offroad 4x4 and when it is real cold out, something locks or freezes on my back wheels, I think the right one---when I let my clutch out I can't go until I rev the engine while letting the clutch out until it unlocks viciously---last winter it locked so bad that the truck was actually almost turning on that wheel before it broke---talked to the dealer, but they knew nothing--said they would to look at it, but hard to fix unless it was stuck at that time---so has anyone heard of anything like this? really dont want to take to dealer and let him start my bill going when he has no idea to begin with---any help is appreciated---thought someone on here might have an idea--thanks

by the way, used to think it was emergency brake, but does it even when not engaged

if you have drums in the rear them you could have a broken spring. pull the wheel and drum and check to see if all looks okay.
