The instructions packaged with the jack in my 01 calls for 150 ft/lbs on 5 lug nut vehicles, 100 ft/lbs on 7 lug nut vehicles.

Post Lug nut torque specs.?

I have a 98 Super cab,XLT with a/c, towing package,etc...etc... I was wondering what the torque specs. for the lug nuts are. Everytime I go to get my tires rotated, they can't seem to find the lift attachments they need. So I am going to do it myself. I do have the stock wheels, and the recall replacement lug nuts. With their history,I don't want to over(or under) torque them.
Yes I have a manual, but they may have changed the specs with the new lugs, not sure. Thanks in advance,,,,,,98

jarrettruelz88, you must have really good eyesight. I would never have seen those stamps. The lug nuts on my 2001 are stamped 150 ft/lbs.

Hey 98, make sure everbody's talking about aluminum wheels. I stop at 100, and even then it feels as if the lug could snap off (yes it has happened to me before, that's why I broke down and bought a torque wrench )

I have been meaning to buy one for months now. For torqueing the lugs, and their persuasive quality when you are caught in a bind .. Really made me nervous when the mechanic I had trusted for years told me they didn't need to be torqued!!?? He put my back wheel back on(screw in the tire) and just dropped the truck after hitting the lugs with an impact.....I confronted him,,,and he swore up and down that they were fine like that.
I lit out of there as fast as the tires could spin, and never went back,,,,,98

I know, I've watched 'em do that before, and I've asked "Do you know what these wheels should be torqued to?", which sometimes results in a really funny stare. I wouldn't of thought it was that important if I hadn't of warped the rotors on my last truck, and then being told that overtightening was the reason.

Hey Flats Man,
I haven't done much since I came to the house a few weeks ago. I finally put an amplifier in it,though. I'm planning to get some 01 Lightning headlights and corners. I also found some rims I like,17's for $500 a set! I'm going to get them in silver, and paint them charcoal color. Should look sharp with the tan body. I recently found out I have an open differential Can it be converted to limited slip? ,,,,,,98
