Question i have 275/60/17...what psi should i inflate it to?

i got a new set of wheels and tires from a brand new Lariat. the size is 275/60/17. I checked the pressure with a digital pressure gauge and it all registered 41 psi. the max psi for the tire written on the sidewall is 35. i let some air out down to 35 and now the tires seem to be bulging out too much (looking like needing some air) and at night, it sounds like mickey thompsons. should i pump it back up to 41?
