Question Speedo Problem on 2000 F-150...Please Help!

Ok here is my problem. I have a 2000 F-150. I put 33/12.5/17 tires on my stock 17 rims. I changed my gears from 3.55 to 4.10. My speedo now reads approx 7mph faster then I am realy going. I do not have a speedo gear in my trans. I have to have it done by the computer. Does anyone know if Ford will do this? I have heard story's that say they will do if for a tire change but not for a tire and gear change. That will su*k big time! This also means that I am putting more miles on my truck. Has anyone come across this problem before. And can I get it fixed? Thanks in advance.

If it helps...I've been told the only thing they can do is program the truck for a different gear ratio. But even that would have to be a factory gear ratio. I don't believe they can program for a 4.10 rear because the f-150 does not come with a 4.10. The best thing to do is to contact Mike T. (look for him in the computer chip category) and buy a superchip with a custom program to correct the problem. He will need to know how far off you are a different speeds in order to figure out the percentage of difference between now and before the changes.

Tuscon truck,

By the way, did those tires fit without a lift or trim job?

I HAVE A 2000 F-150 WITH 37" BFGS T/ AKO TIRES ON 17X10 WELDS. THERE IS NO RUBBING JUST A LITTLE TRIM OFF OF THE FRONT VALENCE. IN TWO WEEKS SUPERLIFT IS COMING OUT WITH A SPEEDO FIX FOR TIRE/GEAR CHANGE FOR THE FORD. ALL I KNOW IS THAT IT HOOKS NEER THE TRANS. WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN AND HOW IT WORKS.
