A guy at discount tire told me that going bigger than factory recomended size would tear up the front end of a 4x2 F-150 that they were not built heavy duty enough to handle them,and that it voided the warrenty. Is this true? If it is what on the front end would you have to modify?
I was thinking of 265s on stock rims is that ok?

 

MIKERUTA the guy at auto store is goofy I had 265 on mine and then went to 285 with my lift wont hurt the front end you may want to put a steering stabilizer shock on the front. I've probably aligned more vehicles than he has sold tires. 21 years worth. dan

 

That guy you talked to was a moron. There's no way that putting 265's on your truck could possibly void the warranty, much less tear up your truck. That guy just can't handle a ford, that's all. Too many Chevy body lifts running around his store.

truckluver, if you put a 2" leveling kit, be sure to put 2.5" blocks in the read. Otherwise, tour truck will look like you have a heavy load in the rear.

sounds like your the person to ask! I was told from some guy at fabtech that if I go with a 2" lift coil and 3 1/2" spindle lifth
that the front end of my truck would not align, even if I used cams.
