Now i have to decide do I go with 305/70/16's and pro comp wheels or stay with the ford wheels and new 33/12.5/17's....Any pros / Cons...... Thanks, Steve

Question

By the way Harley, I noticed you said you were going to get your ProComp tires at 4wheelparts, so I was wondering if their buy 3 get one free deal was still going on?

OKAY....I have a 4x4 2001 SCREW and 4 wheel parts wharehouse is telling me NO WAY on a larger tire. I have the ford 17" wheels with 265/70/17's and asked about the ProComps in the 33/12.5/17 and they said i need a 4" lift. Have you lifted your truck? I have looked into a 305/70/16 with 16x8 rims and they still say NO WAY....HELP! Just looking for a larger tire to fill the wheel well!

Harley:

The guys at 4 wheel parts wharehouse told me the same thing. Then, online someone showed me pics of my same truck with these wheels.

Have you ever thought that they are just trying to sell you new tires and new rims??? If the buy three get one free deal is still going on, they aren't going to make much money on you if you go with the Pro Comps. I don't know of any other tires like these in that size. Does BFG put out T/A KO's in 305/70/17?

I have not lifted my truck or cranked the torsion bars. It is a stock 2001 4x4 Screw and the tires are the Pro Comp 33/12.5/17 on the stock rims. Show them the pictures as proof. They are idoits.

PS. By the way, they are great in the sand and in the snow. There's no comparison to the factory Goodyears, the Pro Comps are way better, and I have had tons of compliments on the looks since I changed.

Thanks agian....I called the 4 wheel parts wholesalers 800 # and they said the sale ends January 31st....the Sacremento dealer said this weekend was the last weekend and the Oakland store said they would honor the December/January X-Mas catalog. I think Im going to drive back to the Sac store and have the 33/1.5/17" installed....I do Love my truck!

Thanks for the follow-up, Harley. The info on the deadline for the sale is greatly appreciated. And good luck on your new setup you're going to get, be sure to take some pics, because I guarantee that your truck will look awesome!
