Question 3" Body lift and 35" tires, will they fit????

I have a 1997 F150 4x4 extended cab. I would like to put a 3" body lift and 35" tires. However, everyone I talk to at the offroad shops say there is no way 35" tires will fit with a 3" body lift. I have seen several trucks on here with this setup, especially "Great Whites", awesome!!! Need some info, please help and tell me if this is possible?

Cool

Oh yes you can fit them...you have to go with the 16" rim size (there is a 15" rim you can go with, but it is not recommended cause it puts a lot of stress on components due to extreme backspacing-so i hear), but you can put 315/75R16s on which are actually slightly larger (on most tires) than 35s that'll go on 16 inch wheels. The trick is finding the right rim...you can fit a 315/75R16 on anything from a 16x7 to a 16x12, but the 16x10 works the best cause its midrange and makes the tire not bulge too much which causes rubbing. I know American racing atlas' and eagle 589s and American racing bajas will fit in the 16x10 range (which are what most people are running here). You will need to raise your torsion bars very slightly and trim the front valence under the bumper about an inch, where it cuts back underneath the truck. But trust me you can do it...in fact, i'm gettin my 35s in in 5 business days...i'll post pics when i get em on...hope this helps...

Thumbs up

It will work.....but I would recommend that you not use an agressive tread pattern tire. My truck has a 3" body lift and 35" BFG AT KO's. The valence on the bottom definetly has to go and you will want to crank up the torsion bars too. They will rub at full lock when backing up and when turned and you hit a good hole. If I had an agressive tire on mine I would have ripped out my inner fenders several times!!!!!!!
