please someone tell me what's wrong...my abs light came on today...it is blinking 16 blinks...over and over...it won't let me take it out of park...we checked the brakes...brake fluid..rear fluid..cleaned sensor on rear differential...disconnected battery to reset...is it a bad sensor?

 

Mine is doing the same thing and is a 97. I didn't count how many times it blinked, but I can't get it into gear....How do I correct this???? Thanks!

Is there any way to override this so I can get it into gear and get it to a place so it can be looked at...

 

hi everyone...finally found out what was wrong...fuse blew and wouldn't let me take it out of drive...my brake fluid sensor went bad and blew the fuse...since they don't sell that alone...you have to buy the whole thing...I just disconnected it (it has a plug) and my light went off and it is fine for now...but don't put the fuse in til you unplug the sensor(it is screwed in to the master cyl.)

 

forgot ...you can take it out of gear if you disconnect the battery...and put it in neutral...then put the battery cable back on...

 

My ABS light is blinking 4 times on my 97 F150 4x4 supercab. The break light is also on...Can anyone assist please and let me know what needs to be done. I would like to do the work my self. Has anyone ran into this?

if the red brake light is on you need to fix that first and it might fix the yellow abs light at the same time.

the red light comes on when there is a basic brake problem ie:
low fluid, pressure differentail in the master

 

i had the same problem with my 99 f150 and i replaced the speed sensor in on the rear end and it shut that light off. its real easy to replace to and only cost about 12 bucks for the part from napa

 

I have a lifted 96 f-150 and this morning i went to get in my truck and when i looked my abs light is flashing then i went to put it in reverse and it wouldnt go its stuck. On the other hand i turned it off and put it in nutrual and it fired up and i could put it in reverse and drive. If anyone knows what the problem is please let me me know. thanks.
