Post 4x2 17 inch rim what size tire can i go with?

I have a 1997 sc 4x2 . I just got a complete set of the saw mill rims 17 inch and i was now wondering what size can work with the 4x2 truck not lifted. Is the 265-70-17 ok? Can i go bigger? I have no plans to lift the truck at this time. Thanks for your help.

Yes 265/70 will fit and thats just about the only size available for a 17" rim.Don't get the goodyear ats if you want a tire that lasts more than 25k miles. There are a few other sizes available but you need a rim that is 8" wide.

what i got on mine are
goodyear eagle GTII
P275-60R/17 OWL All Seasons
they came with the Sport XLT model
which is a 4x2
not lowered or raised
and they looked mean as a mother
the lightings have the 285-45/18 i believe
and they look so raw
not sure about the other dimension 7" or 8"
hope this helps
