Lock up your spare?
Hello All,
I recently purchased my first F150, a white Y2K, and it's still "bone" stock.
Can anyone suggest a method or source (vendor) of locking the spare tire.
Thanks in advance.

You can find one in the JC Whitney catalog. It appears on page 18 in my catalog, but you can check the index under spare tire locks if you have a different catalog.

I got the Ford gas cap lock, wheel locks, and spare lock. The spare lock fits down the spare tire winching hole at the bumper. It works good and you don't have to crawl under the truck.

On my ranger, it had about a 3/8" wire cable that went from one side of the frame to the otherside and in the spokes of the wheel. Then it had a padlock with a rubber boot thing to seal the key hole. Worked really well. The other nice thing about this way is that you dont have to worry about losing the spare tire. The cable can break. It would suck when that happens.
I have an Exhibition that came with Generals. The spare is still a General so I don't have to worry about anyone stealing it. I wish someone would!
