Vibration during braking

Vibration during braking

Ok, new shocks all the way around, new tires all the way around, and new drums and shoes on the rear. I have an up and down vibration or almost a shudder when braking thru 35-40 MPH that seems to start in the rear of my truck. It goes away once I get below 35 MPH. I had the problem before all the new items were changed out and none of them have changed the problem. It's a 97 Supercab 4X4 with stock sized tires and stock wheels. Any ideas???

Check the drive shaft.

Check the driveshaft for vibes under braking? It vibes no other time than braking and at that speed. If I let it coast thru that speed it doesn't vibrate.

Make sure the new set of tires are balanced properly.

I really don't think that's the problem...The main reason I changed the tires was to eliminate the vibe; along with the new brakes and shocks...nothing seems to fix it. BTW, the new tires were balanced to 45MPH...

Sounds like warped front rotors to me. make sure you torque your front lug nuts to proper specs (I believe 150 ft #s). Have your front rotors checked for runout.

Can you feel it in the pedal at all?

I had to take it out for a drive to check. Yeah I can feel it a little bit in the pedal. It doesn't like that strong of a vibe in the pedal to do what I'm feeling in the back of the truck though. It shakes so much , you can actually see the headlight beams shaking. I'l have the front checked out though and report back.

Changed out the front rotors and pads and the vibe is gone. Sure felt like it was coming from the rear though, Thanks
