Goodyear RT/S
I have about 50,000 miles on the goodyear rt/s tires and I have to say the traction in wet weather stinks. I almost lost it today when going around a corner and applying moderate acceleration. The roads were slightly wet but the rear end fish tailed about three times before I could get control of the truck. Does anyone else have this problem with these tires, and which tires in 17 inch would you recomend for good traction in the rain?

I think I can speak for everybody by saying, yes,the goodyear rt/s suck in wet weather. I like the Firestone AT. Personally, I'm going with the BF Goodrich after my Goodyears wear out. I like the AT's.

While I do agree that wet weather traction with these tires is bad after 50,000 miles...any tire will have bad traction with that much wear. Mine were fine when new and are much quieter on road (a majority of my driving) than the AT or other non-road biased tires.
I recently went in and had new RT/S put on my truck and I am very happy with the ride quality and traction. It all depends on what you want...if you'll be in the boon docks 80% of the time go with the AT or Dueller. If youll be doing lots of highway travel get a good road tire.

I will agree on the wet traction thing, but I just put a set through its paces in deep sand, slickrock, large gravel, and some really loose steeps while off-roading in canyonlands national park and was happy to see that the RT/S tires while being a compromise for the road, also did very well for me on these trails. We will see how treadwear goes, but overall I'm happy with the performance, the major factor that will prevent me from putting them on again is the price.
