Moisture?
1997 F-150 extended cab 2WD. If my truck is not driven but sits outside in a light rain overnight my rear wheels lock up when first applied. Then they act normal. This happens even with no rain and a heavy dew. I had a 1994 F-150 4WD that did the same thing. I am accustom to this problem and always do a brake test when I start out. But my wife does not. Anyone else have this problem?

this is a very common problem. I remember taking my 98 back to the dealer, while it was under warrantee, and they replaced the rear shoe's with a different set. There should be a TSB defining the replacement. Can't remember if it was a different material or something else to the shoes.
This condition existed on my 93 F150 too. I believe we can thank the removal of asbestos from brake linings.
Good luck

Thanks for the reply;
I have been living with this "problem" for several years now. Guess I will continue until it is time for a brake shoe replacement.
On another note does anyone know where I might locate an Ammco 1750 brake gauge. These were used to adjust the brakes on older (1930's-40's) Lockheed dual wheel cylinder setups. Thanks.
