17" Cast Aluminum Wheels
I have the 99 17" Sport Package Cast wheels, I believe these are the same as what came on the 98's with the Off Road Package. Has anyone gone to the trouble of turning these into polished aluminum wheels?? I suppose they are clear coated and would need to have new clear coat applied after the "polish".
Thanks

Cheese'd -
I wanted to have some wheels polished once that were clear coated but was told that it would be really expensive ($150.00) for each wheel. Why? - Because the clear coating is baked on and is really difficult to cut through so it takes a lot of time. As far as a polished wheel goes, I don't think they clear coat them at all. When I found out how much it would cost to have the original wheels polished, I just bought brand new 17" polish aluminum wheels instead. There are a number of products out there for maintaining polished wheels and none that I've seen mention anything about the presense of a clear coat.
