B-Man,

You do know that it was Bridgestone (Japanese) who bought Firestone, right? Just checking.

Michelin prefers to think of themselves as a WORLD company.

If you want a broader evaluation of both tires, http://www.tirerack.com has a Tire Survey section, it might surprise you what others have to say about these tires, they sell both types mentioned in this post.

(Tire Survey for - All-Terrain Tires)
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/orat.jsp

(Tire Survey for - Mud-Terrain Tires)

I'll go with the "World Company" spin on it, thanks...

I do know that, but it begs the question:

What does that have to do with Michelin & bustin' 01 XLT's stones ???

Sorry brother, but it's true: Your Wheaties are gonna be a little salty in the AM...

Seriously, the Goodrich company got out of tire making in the mid-eighties. Michelin picked it up and now every surrender vehicle on earth is properly equipped !!!

Well that is important. I mean if your driving up to surrender and your tire blew out the other side might think your shooting at them and blow you away.

So very safe tire...

I dunno about all the tire brands, but I do know this. I put my truck through worse crap than most people do, in all kinds of conditions on and off-road, and my BFGs are kicking butt and taking names. When they are gone, they'll be replaced by new BFGs, but the next time, I may go with the mud terrain instead of the ATs.

My dueler at's are well over 60,000 miles and still going strong....well, they're still there anyway. Could use replacements before the snow flies. Probably get the same thing!

MPG with all-terrain tires

Do all-terrain tires affect mpg?

I got general tires 275-70-16 and I am thinking on getting BFG all-terrain.

FWIW, I put on a set of Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo's on yesterday in LT 245 75 16 Load Range C.

All I can say is WOW! I know its early, but these things are quiet (amazingly so given the tread pattern), and have better grip in the rain than any tire I have ever had. So far, a happy customer!

I've had the Dueller AT Revos on for a bit now and gotta say that they are a great tire.
They ride way better than the Goodyear crap that came with the truck and have much better traction on wet pavement!!
They are great in the dirt too,mud I don't know about cause it has'nt rained here in months.
I was looking at the BFG's but several tire dealerships said they are not very good for any gravel road driving, they chunk off quickly.Don't know if that is true but I was not willing to take the chance when the BFG's were more money.
Overall I'd have to say that the Revo is one of the best tires I've ever had on a truck and they look pretty cool too!!
We'll see what they are like in the snow and ice soon enough.
