Question matching ceramic pads to rotors

last brake job i changed to the ceramic pads. since my rotors were bad i changed them also. i like the ceramic pads, no problem, but i bought the cheap rotors from autozone. now guess what, i need new rotors again.

so question is what is a good rotor to go with the ceramic pads, to get more distance between brake jobs. at a more expensive price but not outrageous.

I did the same thing. Ceramix + Autozone cheapie rotors.

I found out an old college friend worked at Napa for a while between jobs and highly recommended the Napa United (not True Stop or hi-perf). It comes up at about $65ea on their web site, but came up $53 at the store I went to. This friend has never seen one come back unlike the True Stop ones. I just put them on last weekend so we'll see how they last.

Neither the OEM Brembo or Napa United are slotted or cross drilled. The Napa Hi-Perf are both I believe. If you want something like that, I recommend the Powerslot for about $90ea.

I just installed Brembo rotors from tirerack.com with Raybestos QS ceramic pads. Very satisfied.

Brembo replacement rotors are NOT any more expensive than auto part store rotors and MUCH better. It's when you get into the slotting and drilling that you incur the extra expense.

I just put powerslots on my truck - approx. 500 miles ago. jury is till out on if there is a noticeable diference. These better not warp like the stock rotors did. I used hawk hps pads like recomemnded by Powerslot - I know, they're not ceramic...

During my research I found out that Powerslot rotors are Brembos that have been slotted.
