7 lugs on my truck????????

I have a 2000 f-150 4x4, and on the rims it has 7 lugs, not all of the f-150's have them i believe. On the back of my truck there's the f-150 lable on the back and below that it says 7700. What does that mean??? is my truck like a heavy duty f-150 or what?

Hvy Dty?

Originally the "Light Duty" F250s had the "7 lug" wheels. I guess that when Ford came up with the "7700GVW" package for the F150, it included the 7 lug wheels (higher weight rating). Good luck with the truck, it ought to really "haul"! Should have said it first, but WELCOME to the site!

In 2000, Ford did away with the F250 light duty and created the F150 7700lb GVWR package (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating). It is essentially the same thing as the F250 light duty. It has larger brakes, the 4R100 transmission, a heavier frame, a 3.73 rear end, and as you have noticed - 7 lugs wheels instead of 5.

PS - Welcome to the boards!

I have a 2002 7700 package B. Comes with 4.10 LS and 7 Lugs

Good luck finding aftermarket wheels over 16 in. You'll need to get custom wheels made if you want larger.
