Just a question to see what you all use for Dot 3. Which is the most durable in your opinion?

Castrol LMA is among the best, IMHO.

I have read a fair bit of praise about the Castrol LMA and looked for it when I changed my fluid last weekend. Of course I couldn't find it...so I used a Vavoline synthetic product which also claims to be a Low Moisture Absorbing brake fluid. I think the boiling point was about 500 degrees....much better than standard dot 3. I used this brand of fluid 3 years ago when I changed it in my explorer. I can tell you that after 3 years it has not turned dark like my standard dot 3 did....So given my experience with vavoline I'd say it is good stuff.....but it does seem that the castrol LMA has a lot of positive press....I'd try that if I could find it.....

Motul 600 is DOT 3 and DOT 4 compatible. It has excellent specs and is available at motorcycle shops. Been using it for years in my bikes. For me, it would be overkill for the truck, and its quite a bit more expensive than the stuff you find in large bottles at the auto parts store.

Thanks for the replies! I will have my truck in the shop for about three days for a complete overhaul and header installation, so I though, " why not change the brake fluid, too!"
