Question Parking Brake 99 F150 4X4

My parking brake could use a good tightening. Is there a fairly easy adjustment I can do? If so how?

First step is to check the rear brake pads or shoes depending on which you have. This may be an indication of low material and you may need new pads. After that has been done if all is fine the rear brakes may need adjusting.

the parking brake cables like to strech over time.

if you have rear drums do what richardd says. if you have rear disks I doubt it is due to wear because the parking brake has nothing to do with regular braking.

look on the back of backing plate. you should find a little rubber grommet at the bottom towards the ground pop that out and there is an adjusting wheel in there. don't adjust it too tight as it will cause drivability concerns.

OK Thanks

I have the rear discs. So it sounds like a brake cable is worn.
