4.6/5.4 I need recommendations

Just traded my 98 SC 4x4 with the 4.6L for an 00 SC 4x4 with the 5.4L both 3.55LS. Wow what a difference. I loved the 4.6L but im in love with the 5.4 (don't tell my wife). I have a 18ft bayliner that weighs about 3,200 lbs. The 4.6 felt under powered when merging in traffic and getting up to highway speeds with the boat behind it. With the 5.4L I keep looking to see if the boat is still behind me.

I've got the 4.6/5 speed (231 hp). Just picked it up a few days ago so I haven't really screamed it through the gears yet, but it is no speed demon. I sometimes drive an econoline with the 5.4 auto and I am sure it would smoke the 4.6 bad.... Just getting from one gear to another seems to take a few seconds... definitely a truck tranny... but it is a blast to drive, even though it is not real snappy it seems torquey and unstoppable.
